Vladan Vasić has been the Mayor of the City of Pirot since 2003. Prior to this, Mr. Vasić worked in clothing industry as a system engineer from 1996 to 2003. During his career, he focused on various areas of expertise including public finances, budget planning, planning and realization of capital investments, improving local infrastructure, local economic development and attracting investment. Mr. Vasić has been active in several organizations, working groups and commissions. Among others, he was the President of the Solidarity Housing Construction Board Pirot (2000-2003) and the President of the Inter-sectoral Council for Development and Monitoring of Implementation of the Local Action Plan for Children (2005-2010). Mr. Vasic has been Serbian Delegation Substitute Member for Congress of Local and Regional Authorities in the Council of Europe since 2016. Mr. Vasić has been granted several awards including the Municipal Tolerance Prize given by OSCE for consolidating human rights and promoting tolerance and the Award of City Fit for Children. Mr. Vasić holds a BA in Engineering, specializing in automatics and electronics, and an MSC in Economics.
