Šuhret Fazlić was born on 17th April 1961 in Bihac. He graduated from the Political Science Department of the Faculty of Political Science in Sarajevo in 1985. He holds a master’s degree in human resources management and the title of Certified Human Resources Specialist from the Michigan State University. As part of his residency in the United States, he did internships at the Michigan State Department of the Office of Grait Workplace Development, where he did research in the area of pay models, that is, motivating civil servants, workplace stress issues, and succession in government and small and medium-sized family businesses. So far, he has published two scientific papers in the field of management. During the war 1992 – 1995 in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Fazlić was a member of the 5th Corps Command of the BiH Army. He has an extensive work and management experience in private and public companies and international organizations in Bosnia and Herzegovina (Head of the OHR Regional Office, Advisor to the Mayor of Bihac, Advisor to the Prime Minister of the Una Sana Canton, Director of the FBiH Privatization Agency, etc.). In the term of 1998 – 2000 he was a Member of the Assembly of the Una Sana Canton, and in the term of 2000 – 2002 he was a Member of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH. In the 2008 local elections, as well as in 2012, he was elected a municipal councilor in the Bihać Municipal Council. At the local elections in 2016 he was elected the Mayor of Bihac.
