Wasim Akhtar

After his early academic education, Mr. Akhtar finished his Degree Program in Business Administration. Mr. Akhtar joined Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) as a party worker in 1987. He was Elected as Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) of Sindh in 1993 and 1997. He became the Minister for Housing & Town Planning in 1997. In 2003, he worked as Advisor to The Chief Minister of Sindh for Local Government Department and as Advisor to The Chief Minister of Sindh for Home Department in 2004. Mr. Akhtar was elected as Member of National Assembly (MNA) of Pakistan in 2008. Wasim Akhtar became the Mayor of Karachi on August 24, 2016.
